The second case to come before the new British Supreme Court is a strange one. The parents of a Jewish boy are suing to get their kid into a venerable school called JFS, the Jewish Free School, which is supported by the British Taxpayer. The kid was rejected because his mom was converted by a Reform Rabbi, and while most of the kids going there are Reform, the people running the place aren't.

These rabbis need to be taken down a peg...more below the fold.

This is going to be a short diary: while sitting in my hotel room in Africa; the TV news channels were all about what the French Adjunct General just did: Former President jaque chirac was indicted and will stand trial in only a few months: i noticed that nobody had mentioned this over here.

Also; the former President of Honduras has surrendered and CNN international claims it as a great victoy for him. HA!!!!!

Did you know that French typewriters have "q" where "a" should be, "m" where ";" should be and the letters µ,ç and §?

The Netherlands Antilles are going to dissolve themselves a year from tomorrow, and the French West Indies are having referenda on whether to become autonomous collectives. Can the islands of the Lesser Antilles go it alone? That's the question.

President Obama has made a huge mistake going to Copenhagen to kowtow to the International Olympic Committee in order to secure the games for Chicago. It makes everyone look really bad.

For those who want something less depressing to think about on this 9-11, the treasury department put out a list of what's going to be on the state quarters through the first year of Bernie Saunders' second term as president. Most of the sites are rather innocuous, but South Dakota already had Mt. Rushmore in the first series and Most of Ellis Island is still in New York! Bad form New Jersey!

I was hoping that the Campobello/FDR National park would make it because it's the only US National park in Canada. Nomandy, France deserves one as well....what do you think?

Five years ago, the Democrats in the Massachussetts state lagislature decided to screw Mitt Romney by taking away his power to appoint a successor to "President-elect" John Kerry's seat. It seems that they actually screwed themselves...and the rest of us as well....more below the fold....

What used to be the British colonial office just deposed the government and assembly of the Turks and Caicos Islands, one of the last remaining bits of the British Empire.

The reason that the title has a (sort of) in it, is that while the T&Cs are Caribbean in culture and climate,as well as a member of several Caribbean organizations, they are not technically in the Caribbean. Check a map.

However, it could be considered a coup. More below the fold.
