I'm a partisan. I don't call myself a Democrat, but I support that party 99.9% of the time. I call myself a liberal progressive with the occasional maverick streak. I'm partisan, I believe we can't police the world, occupy foreign lands, and support dictatorships. I believe in marriage equality, abortions rights (even while I don't like abortion), stem-cell research, seperation of church and state, universal healthcare, the welfare state. I'm less liberal on immigration and affirmative action, but I am not Tom Tancredo. I'm a partisan resigned to the fact less than half of the country things the way I do, and I'm fine with that. I will vote for whoever is closest to my platform and it's almost always the Democrat, almost never the Republican, well, except in the 1988 Connecticut Senate race.
I am not part of the chic thing to do today, I am not part of the crock of sh*t called "moderate Independents." Some of you are independents because the Democrats aren't far enough to the left for you, and some because the GOP isn't far enough right. I'm not talking about those Indepdendents. I'm taking about the Mike Bloomberg "Which party platform is it convienent for me to support now" Independents.
