Ayn Rand, one of the most influential spokespersons for capitalism in this century, defines socialism in her works as "from those according to their ability to those according to their need". Somehow, "private" insurance companies have come to be defined as defenders of free market capitalism, when in fact, they have created the most twisted form of socialism that has ever existed.
