This is a piece that touches the core of who I am and what I believe. There are agent provocateurs who would love for the revolution to turn violent so they have an excuse to declare martial law. I worry that we are dangerously close to Kafka's nightmare world but I believe there is hope yet. We have to take our education into our own hands & we have a responsibility to share/spread what we have learned. I don't mean to be overly dramatic, but just how much worse do things have to get before we wake up & unite? What was that classic book, "It Can't Happen Here" ? Is Neil Postman right when he said that Aldous Huxley was predicting that we'd welcome "soma" (television)? Will we be sitting on our couches with the grin of a simpleton when the last vestiges of our Bill of Rights vanish forever? We have not only the moral, high-ground but the intellectually superior argument. Don't let the "compassionate conservatives," sucker us into their trap. United we stand, divided we fall! Violence is their game. Violence is the tool of tyrants. Peace, or the love of humanity, will win out but we each have a responsibility to make it a reality.
