The recent diary posted by another member here has got me to thinking about the larger issue of gender in the presidential campaign.
Of course, with the early favorite for the nomination being a woman and a former First Lady to boot, it was inevitable that issues of gender would come to the forefront in this presidential campaign, just like Barack Obama's entrance ensured that the issue of race would eventually raise its head as well.
Here at the end of the primaries, as the Clinton campaign prepares to celebrate its last hurrah in Kentucky before Obama becomes the de facto nominee, I want to give some of my thoughts on the Clinton campaign and gender, and how the former failed in my view to make the best use of the latter.
