It was my last day of college, and my job search was not going all that well. I was off to say goodbye to a friend who worked for the Dean of Students when I stumbled across the sign that advertised a tutoring job. Some poor kid's parents wanted a tutor for their fourth grader. You know the kind of sign, one with the many vertical strips cut out on the bottom of the page that had their phone number. I figured "What the hell'' and grabbed a number.
Sam is the son of Chinese immigrants who are trying to live the American Dream and also trying to provide a great education for their kids. Sam, the rising 5th grader in question, wasn't doing so hot in Math, so they needed a fantastic tutor to get him up to speed. Well, they got me instead.
