In the end, there are only ever three arguments.
That's it. You can either be right, wrong, or Totally Fucking Insane.
Being right requires no explanation. You're simply right. Being wrong, well, that's a little more complicated (or maybe it's a little simpler) than we usually make it. To be considered wrong, you must be honestly wrong. In other words, you must at the time of making an argument believe it to be true. You must make your wrong argument in good faith. It is not uncommon, in fact it's almost the norm, to blend these two. You're not always completely right, and for that matter you're probably rarely completely wrong.
But you can't be just a little TFI. (I will use TFI and Totally Fucking Insane interchangeably.) If it were a gene, it would be the dominant one. When you're mostly wrong, but you throw in a Totally Fucking Insane argument, that's it. You're TFI. And however right other parts of your argument may be, a TFI throws it away. You're just Totally Fucking Insane.
