Its funny to see all these people talking about Dean's lack of electability and comparing him with McGovern's loss to Nixon.
But what strikes me most is the similarities that he has with another democrat that beat the same Nixon a few years earlier. Yes, I'm talking about JFK.
Just like JFK, Dean is mastering a completelly new technology that is ready to be centerstage in this election, the use of the Internet.
The same way as JFK beat Nixon by being the first to harness the power of Broadcast Television, Dean is the first candidate to harness the power of the Two Way Internet to build his campaign.
And its not only this, McGovern was a wimp that never really stood up to the tricks of Nixon's Campaign, and Dean is the only democrat that had the nerve to start challenging Bush and the GOP Rovemachine.
Well, thats my two cents of thoughts on this matter, its an outside view (since I'm from Brazil) but outside views are good to point to a few hidden things that end up lost in the flood of minor details.
