Sure I have voted in every election. Most of the time I vote Democratic.
I certainly am a political junkie, so a lot of the time campaigning was fun and intellectual stimulating - even when my team did not win.
But then 2000 happened, and along with the anointing of George W. Bush, my anxiety level began to rise.
Surely, I thought, Bush would not be reelected. I did not take into affect the stupidity of some people.
And along with 2004, my anxiety level rose again.
Then came Barack Obama. Surely, thought I, this is the beginning of something different. No one, including the newly elected President, could have known just how bad this country's problems were. But knowing Obama, for I had followed his career as a State Semator and as a U.S. Senator, that changes would begin to happen. I accepted the fact that most legislation would be slow in coming. The Republicans made it obvious how their plan to rule for decades was thwarted.
