This is very good news. I am very happy to see the Democratic Senate campaigns rolling in dough.
The numbers reveal that the Senate Democratic campaign's money effort, under Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.), has leapt ahead of its GOP counterpart both in its fundraising rate and in terms of cash on hand. That is a sharp turnaround from the equivalent stage of the 2004 election cycle, when the Republicans had raised $14.5 milllion and had $5.3 million on hand while the Democrats had raised $10.8 million and had $2.6 million left in the bank.

This is wonderful news. The underdogs are showing their strength. The Democratic Party may be the minority party now. But this is a temporary insanity that the U.S. will recover from.
Compare and contrast:
The three senior Senate Democratic leaders, Minority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.), Minority Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) and Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Byron Dorgan (N.D.), gave a total of at least $785,000 to the DSCC through June, according to data at politicalmoneyline.com. Reid has given half a million dollars, Durbin at least $235,000 and Dorgan $50,000. The figures do not include money the lawmakers may have given from their leadership PACs.
By contrast, the top three Republican leaders, Majority Leader Bill Frist (Tenn.), Assistant Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) and Republican Conference Chairman Rick Santorum (Pa.), have not made any contributions from their personal campaign accounts to the NRSC, according to politicalmoneyline.com.
Looks like team work to me. We will not be held at the mercy of these money-grubbing, war-addicts anymore. We are going to take back the United States Senate. It may not be in 2006. But we can gain more seats. Then, we can be back in the majority in 2008.
Here are some words from Senator Obama:
"Democrats are highly motivated," he said. "Appropriately, the leadership has indicated that people need to pony up. Everybody has set goals."
Highly motivated? Of course, they are highly motivated. They are fighting to save the country from the neo-cons. It is wonderful to see the Democratic Party coming out swinging. We are going to be winning some big elections in the next few years. They are clearly tired of losing. The Republicans are getting lazy and complacent. Exactly where we want them.
