THE SETUP:
It's early August, 2008, a couple weeks before the convention. Hilary Clinton has locked up the nomination with Obama and Edwards virtually tied for second. Much to the dismay of many, Gore declined to enter the race.
During the Republican primary season, TX Congressman Ron Paul leaves the GOP to pursue his presidential aspirations as a Libertarian. The GOP fragments as the noisy Republican base of pro-war, social conservatives chase away the "limited government" types in droves. Paul gains traction but is never a serious contender.

In a surprise move, Clinton selects Paul as her running mate. A decision that allows her some appeal to southern voters, bolsters her anti-war credibility, and, as suggested by some progressive blogger(s), attempts to bring Libertarians into the Dem party fold.
Howard Dean resigns in protest and immediately forms the newly created Progress Dem party, and is joined by Obama and Edwards. Their ticket is Obama/Edwards (or Edwards/Obama, take your pick).
THE CHOICE:
What are you going to do?
