Why don't the leading Democratic candidates pledge to prosecute the crimes of the Bush administration?
Review the websites of Clinton, Obama, and Edwards. None of them promises to bring the Bush crime syndicate to justice. Perjury, obstruction of justice, conflicts of interest, corruption, unconstitutional behavior, invasions of privacy: for seven years we've watched the criminal abuse of our laws and us. Yet not a single candidate has made an issue of bringing these miscreants to justice, except Dennis Kucinich (1%) and Chris Dodd (out).
More below the fold...
Do our candidates fear being seen as vindictive? Is it unimportant to them? Are they secretly comfortable with this administration's style, knowing that they can behave the same way?
This issue should be red-meat for Democratic primary voters, and might be powerful in the general election. But it isn't even mentioned. Are they are so cynical that they just don't care about it?
If you are a supporter of Clinton, Obama, or Edwards, please feel free to cite examples of your candidate's passion to uphold the law. I hope I've missed something.
"I promise to restore the rule of law, and prosecute the crimes of the Bush Administration." That's a pledge I'll hear and vote for.
