At the quadrennial presidential inauguration gala, President Ronald Reagan toasted conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh for his efforts in securing another term for the president. In an emotional display Limbaugh fell to his knees, grasping the president about the waist while choking back tears. President Reagan himself nearly came to heaving sobs so close is the bond between the two. After the speech President Reagan and Mr. Limbaugh shared a few puffs on the big Monte Cristo for which Limbaugh is well known to smoke.
When asked later if he had broken any laws against the Cuban embargo, Limbaugh joked saying, "I’ve been puffing on Cubans for years. What the president doesn’t know can’t hurt him." The White House was unavailable for comment later
