Other than McCain and Palin, who do you want to see defeated most today?
Here is my list.
- Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA). This is the guy who won his seat by scurrilous attacks on Max Cleland's patriotism. Cleland is a war veteran who lost three of his limbs in Vietnam. It was a test run of the swift boat campaign of 2004 against Kerry. Chambliss warned his supporters yesterday that
The other folks are voting.
The Other being the black folk of Georgia, who have turned out in large numbers to vote early.
2.My own Congressman Randy Kuhl(R-NY). Kuhl is hoping to win by stealth. If you go to his webpage you won't find the word `Republican' anywhere on the front page. His lawn signs just say Kuhl, again no mention of Party affiliation. Eric Massa is putting up a good fight.
3.Rep. Michele Bachmann (WingNut-MN). Enough said.
4.Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) Calvin Trillin wrote about a NY politician whose winning slogan was "Never Been Indicted". Stevens was indicted and convicted of seven Federal felonies. He claims that he is still not a felon because he has not been sentenced yet. Is it possible for someone to be a sitting Senator while also serving as the Bitch of Cellblock 9?
If Stevens wins, and is expelled from the Senate, Sarah Palin gets to appoint his replacement. She will probably name one of her classmates from third grade. Or Todd.
- Sen. Elizabeth Dole (R-NC). I used to think of Sen. Dole as one of the lesser evils in the GOP, until that "Godless" ad.
- Rep Don Young (R-AK). Soon to be in the same Cell Block as his buddy Ted Stevens. What is with Alaska?
- Rep. Bill Jefferson (D-LA). Wonder what is in his freezer now?
- Minority Leader of the Senate, Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
- Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN). I want Al Franken in the Senate.
Breaking my own rules here. Not a `who', but a noxious idea:
- Prop 8 in California.
