Ok.. I really need a distraction diary. You may as well. This is another is a series of diaries that are meant as brief distractions from the struggles of the day. I don't know if that is appropriate these days, so please call or write your representatives and the White House, write a letter to the editor, express some outrage, and THEN enjoy the following.....
Spotted Eagle Ray
Fuchsia Flatworm
Divided Flatworm
Like many brightly colored creatures these flatworms are highly toxic. Don't eat them.
Scarface Blenny
I am finding that the only time I don't feel outrage is when I am underwater. It is a brief respite.
Zebra Moray You can see its pebble-like teeth used for crushing crustaceans.
Dwarf Moray
I am not sure if this is a young Yellow-Margin or a Stout Moray. Cute though, huh?
This handsome fellow is a Conger Eel, sharing his hole with a White Stripe Cleaner Shrimp (the stripe is on the top of the shrimp)
Bubbles
This is a Frogfish. The eye is on the right in this photo, the tail on the left. They are ambush hunters.
Another ambush hunter, the Lizardfish?
The frogfish and lizardfish were hanging out together. And this photo is actually inverted, they were both upside down on the underside of a ledge.
Varicose Phyllidia or Fried Egg Nudibranch
Fellow's Nudibranch The frilly things at the top are gills and the two black spots are rhynophores (sensory organs).
Bloody Hermit Crab
Thanks for visiting. Feel free to post your photos and as always, please be good humans.
Aloha
