Here we go again. This is another in a series of distraction diaries meant only a brief respite from the struggles of the day and a gentle reminder that we share this planet with many amazing creatures.
And yes.. once again I am using the Booby-Bait-And-Switch. I am a bad man.
Flying Fish
I am still seeking a real sharp photo of a flying fish in the air. In the meantime this heavily cropped version of this colorful specimen will have to do.
Spotted Eagle Ray
I thought black and white would work best for this simple silhouette.
A closer look at an eagle ray.
Opelu or Mackerel Scad with a Cleaner Wrasse.
Arc-Eye Hawkfish
Looking up the mast of the wreck, The Mahi, at the dive boat, 65 feet above. This old minesweeper was intentionally sunk as an artificial reef.
The Mahi. Looking down on the wreck from above the stern. The visibility on this day was spectacular, well over 100 feet. As you can see someone has hung an American flag on the mast.
Whitemouth Moray. Cute huh?
Fuchsia Flatworm As with many brightly colored creatures this little worm is highly toxic.
Yellowmargin Moray. He looks a bit toothless in this photo. He is not.
In this wider view you can see the color on the edge of its tail that give it its name.
Looking down on a resting pod of Spinner Dolphins.
Spinner Dolphins
Coming up for a breath.
....and now for the promised boobies. This is an adult Brown Booby.
and this is a juvenile Brown Booby.
Thanks for visiting. Please feel free to post your photos here and as always, be good humans.
