In the interest of preparedness, I have been contemplating some questions Kerry might have to answer in the debate -- questions that may be less obvious than the ones currently being batted around on the campaign trails.
It should be noted that these are not questions I have for Kerry, but questions I think he might be asked. I'd be interested in hearing how the DKos community would like to see Kerry answer these questions, plus add any questions they would like him to prepare for.
- Tony Blair has stood shoulder to shoulder with the president on the Iraq war. Their positions are virtually inseparable. You have criticized the president for how he handled this war. Do you also criticize how Tony Blair has handled the war? And as president, how would your relationship with Tony Blair differ than George Bush's?
- If you lose the popular vote, but win the electoral vote, and questions arise about the legitimacy of some key states that you won, how would you proceed?
- Why did you vote against the first Gulf War?
- Out of the following three challenges that face us in the 21st century, which do you believe poses the greatest danger: Terrorism, the environment, or energy/oil supplies?
- Do you and John Edwards disagree on trade?
- You recently said that you oppose the death sentence, except for terrorists. How do we define who is and is not a terrorist?
- As the new representative of the United States, would you apologize to the world for recent mistakes our country has made?
- You were Michael Dukakis's Lt. Governor during his furlough program, and the Willie Horton incident. What was your position on furloughs, and how has it changed?
- What will you do if your proposed tax rollbacks for the very wealthy do not pass through congress?
