Democrats have an uncanny knack of not taking advantage of opportunities. Right now we have the spectacle of a Republican Senator single-handedly causing tens of thousands to suffer from cut-off of unemployment insurance and COBRA.
Why isn't every single Democrat, especially those Senators running this year, holding a press conference, doing mailings and doing everything possible to make his or her opponent answer the simple question:
Do you support Bunning's campaign against the unemployed?
Are the DSSC or the House Dems organizing this?
There should be full page ads, thirty second spots on TV, viral videos, etc. to make it clear that Republicans hate working people if the will not condemn Bunning.
Aside from passing health care, the Dems' only chance to avoid disaster in November is to convince people that
Republicans cannot be trusted to Govern
There are ample grounds to support that the Republicans cannot be trusted to govern:
They almost destroyed the country over eight years.
They are doing everything possible to hurt the unemployed now.
Therefore, they cannot be returned to power.
Again, Democratic candidate must ask their opponents:
Do you support Jim Bunning's War on the Unemployed?
Update:
I want to see Paul Hodes do this in NH.
I want to see Kendrick Meek do this in FL
I want to see Barbara Boxer do this in CA.
I want to see Alexi Giannoulis do this in IL.
I want to see Jennifer Brunner do this in Ohio.
I want to see all of the House Dem. Reps do this.
