It's Saturday afternoon, I've got my pizza and beer and am ready to relax. I thought I'd put together a simple diary based on the old saying, "The best camera is the one that's with you." in my case that would be my iPhone 4 most of the time since its always with me.
The following is a collection of pictures I've take over the past year or so.
With that first picture, of the Fort Night Lily, I had just dropped my kids off at school and was walking back to the parking lot. While passing the garden boxes that each class planted and care for I spotted that flower. Taken with my previous iPhone 3Gs.
Another Fort Night Lily I shot with my old 3Gs but this time I was at Stone World Bistro and Gardens. This image is a High Dynamic Range (HDR) shot. One shot metered for the highlights and another for the shadows. I used the Pro HDR app to combined the two images.

Took this one at a friends pool party last summer. I had just gotten my iPhone 4. The sun was low in the sky and the light was perfect for about 3 minutes. I grabbed this shot while I had the chance.
I was up in Napa last October and this unique fern was just outside my room. Got this shot early in the morning before heading out for breakfast. iPhone 4
I'm a teacher, once I get to school every morning I get things set up then go for a walk around school before my students start to show up. All of the following landscape images were taken on my morning walk. I live in the San Diego area and we don't get "leaf change" on the trees the way those of you in the north east do. But we do have some trees on campus that change and this year we went through a rare cold spell at the right time (typically leaves just go from green to brown here). I did pump up the saturation on this image just a bit so it would "pop" but really it's not far off from the original. iPhone 4
Of course, as I said, it is San Diego so we have these too. Palm leaf, iPhone 4.

While I am predominately a Landscape Photographer I do take lots of pictures of other things. Thought I'd throw this one in just to make you hungry. Pizza Port, Carlsbad Ca. iPhone 3Gs
I will be posting a diary tomorrow, Sunday Feb. 20th, 2011, to celebrate Ansel Adam's birthday. I won't be posting it in the Photography group since, obviously, it's not my work. I just wanted to give you the heads up so you could look for it if you wanted to. Homework: Pick out your favorite Ansel Adams picture and post it in the comments of that diary tomorrow.
