Op-Ed Contributor: Unpaid Interns, Complicit Colleges
More Physicians Say No to Endless Workdays
How Slavery Really Ended in America
The critical word of the times, the here and now are:
"Unpaid interns," "Complicit colleges," "Endless workdays," "Slavery."
These words are the nasty reality of America today.
American students may well be the most-abused class in America -- or they rank as near equals to America's abused middle and working classes.
For example, funding cuts to schools and educations.
Incredible increases in tuition costs, textbook costs, student daily cost of living at the same time as cutbacks in Pell Grants and scholarships, merciless student loans for which bankruptcy is no remedy.
Privileged and silver-spoon-fed Donald Trump can easily have four bankruptcies, depending upon how you count them:
In 1991, unable to pay a $3.5 billion loan, he declared business bankruptcy. .. Due to the bankruptcy, banks and bondholders lost millions. They came to a compromise with Donald Trump. The banks gave him lower interest rates and a longer time frame to repay the debt and Donald Trump gave the investors half the ownership of the Taj Mahal. ... Not even a year later, Trump Plaza Hotel folded and Donald had to declare bankruptcy. Again, he worked out a deal where he’d give up 49 percent of the hotel to Citibank and the other lenders and he’d get more time to pay the loan back. ...
The bankruptcy saga didn’t stop there. In 2004, Donald filed for bankruptcy protection and restructured his debt. He reduced his ownership of Trump Hotels & Casino Resorts to 27 percent and gave bondholders stocks to help lower his debt and then stepped down as CEO. ... Unfortunately the reemergence didn’t last long. On February 17th 2009, Donald Trump filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy with a debt ratio of $50 million in assets to his $500 million in debt. This filing made the third bankruptcy for Trump Enterprises.

Ah yes, privilege. The privilege of the oligarchy, the plutocracy, the corporatocracy over us working fools.
But endless workdays for the rest of us, not just doctors, and nearly an end to overtime pay.
And slavery? Well, if "unpaid interns" are not close enough to slavery for you, how's about our national spiral downward to wage levels in China -- good old Thomas Friedman's "Flat Earth" doctrine.
Only the very rich have the option of higher education. The rest of you be damned!
Only the very rich may enjoy a decent standard of living. The rest of you, what, a "living wage"? Damnation to you.
The oligarchy, plutocracy and corporations rule. Class warfare against the people, the working class, is in full throttle forward. SCOTUS has deemed it so. Obama's Geithner, Sperling, Bernanke, Immelt, et al, with their cozy ties to Goldman Sachs and GE, hedge funds and Wall Street ... they are following through with the mission to destroy America through total eradication of its middle and working classes, and poor non-elite students.
