The New York Assembly passed the marriage equality bill, in an 80-63 vote.
Above Brooklyn Assembly man Assemblyman Dov Hikind explains his reasons for voting no:
"If gay marriage passes, New Yorkers will be mandated to wear telephones as hats."
The New York Senate is expected to vote on Friday. There are 31 of the necessary 32 votes to finalize the measure.
