I was just wondering how many Kosizens are customers of Working Assets.
For those unfamiliar with it, it is a company that provides financial and other consumer services and donates a portion of each transaction to progressive non-profits - i.e.
- Credit Card
- Cell Phone
- Long Distance
- Shopping Services
They also run activist networks to mobilize members to take action on social and legislative causes. And they sell products that promote progressive themes.
From their Mission Statement
Working Assets was established in 1985 to help busy people make a difference in the world through everyday activities like talking on the phone. Every time customers use one of Working Assets' donation-linked services (Long Distance, Local, Wireless, Credit Card or Online), the company donates a portion of the customer's bill to nonprofit groups working to build a world that is more just, humane, and environmentally sustainable. To date, $40 million has been raised for progressive causes.
The company also serves as a strong political force, dedicated to giving its customers the opportunity to speak out on critical public issues through its Web site and monthly phone bill.
