Well when you have plead the 5th 75 times for medicare fraud, have some rich racist buddies, and say no to exchanges for increased medicaid funding , of course you need protection. Florida paid out an all time high for Scott's protection for he, his administration and his Right winged Governor buddies in an eight year high totals that come to 2.6 million dollars for security and of course that included fishing trips with his old pal
Rick Perry.
I don't know why this piece of a governor who wants the Stand your Ground law is too
cowardly to pack his own heat and stand his own ground with reasonable security and not cost We the People of Florida, many many of us who did not vote him in, millions of dollars to catch a few bass and trott around the state pushing his bad ideas.
The information received from Tampa Bay Times went on to say:
The cost of round-the-clock protection for Gov. Scott totaled $1.8 million in the fiscal year that ended June 30, a slight decrease from the previous year. Most of that cost are salaries and overtime pay to FDLE agents assigned to guard the governor at all times, with transportation costs a distant second.
Too bad only the bad guys get protection!
We also pay for disrespecting our president.
.
Agents also were by the side of Texas Gov. Rick Perry when he went fishing with Scott in Destin last August, and they were close by on a day in July when Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal stood in the back of a pickup truck in Coral Springs, near Fort Lauderdale, to mock President Barack Obama's "you didn't build that" remark.
Jindal and Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell each received state-funded security on four trips to Florida in the past year. One of McDonnell's visits was as keynote speaker at the Republican Party of Florida's victory dinner in Orlando on Oct. 4.
Well it just goes to show you that these big mouthed, vote purging, chicken wings of the Republican party cannot put their big guns where their holster is and when it comes to defending one's self...they can't. Keep in mind the wealthiest among us down here have tax loopholes and are not paying for this security.. We the poor and disenfranchised are the ones picking up the tab.
Of course they are hated and public figures but I cannot imagine a governor in the days of past thinking THEY were important enough and had caused enough anger to warrant this kind of protection. I also can't imagine a man who plead the fifth 75 times becoming governor. I do so hope the Democratic contender is keeping a calculator and expense sheet available with these kind of numbers and brings this up in their run against the Governator.

This is an abuse of taxpayer money.. Fishing? Really ? I can just hear it now.. " Hey Ricky, we got everything? Sunblock, tackle, bait, boat, Shooters on the bait house and armed guards everywhere. Yep we are set."
