Odalis Sharp has a penchant for making the news. The single mother of 10 children dragged her brood to both the Bundy Ranch standoff in Nevada and then appeared again at the Bundy family standoff at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon earlier this year. Her oldest daughter, Victoria, was in Lavoy Finicum’s truck when he ran a police blockade and was gunned down by police (after he tried multiple times to reach for a gun in his coat.) Child Protective Services got involved with her oldest son, accusing Odalis of child abuse. The boy eventually moved out of state to live with his father.
Kansas Child Protective is once again involved in the Sharp family affairs:
Sharp told The Oregonian/OregonLive that she was arrested after arriving home to find police there. She said they were there to take custody of her youngest child, an infant, who was the only child still living with Sharp at the time.
She said police handcuffed her and wouldn't answer whether they had a warrant.
"I tried to kick the officer," Sharp said. "In fact, I kicked her in the leg."
Six of her other children have recently been removed from her home. She was arrested and faces a felony charge of interfering with law enforcement and two misdemeanor counts of battery of a law enforcement officer.
Here she is arriving at the Bundy Ranch in 2014, warming the hearts of the heavily armed faketriots with song. The man who recorded and uploaded the video, Jason Patrick, currently resides in a jail cell, awaiting federal charges related to both standoffs.
And here she is on the very night LaVoy Finicum was killed in a fatal encounter with Oregon State Police. Only moments after finding out that her oldest daughter was in one of the vehicles ambushed by Oregon State Police and the feds , she did the totally sane thing—made her children sing for a crowd.
