Well this is some extreme brutal honesty from Hillary Clinton at an LGBT fundraiser just before she brought Barbara Steisand to the stage.
New York (CNN)Hillary Clinton told an audience of donors Friday night that half of Donald Trump's supporters fall into "the basket of deplorables," meaning people who are racist, sexist, homophobic or xenophobic. In an effort to explain the support behind Trump, Clinton went on to describe the rest of Trump supporters as people who are looking for change in any form because of economic anxiety and urged her supporters to empathize with them.
"To just be grossly generalistic, you can put half of Trump supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables," Clinton said. "Right? Racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic, you name it."
She added, "And unfortunately, there are people like that and he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people, now have 11 million. He tweets and retweets offensive, hateful, mean-spirited rhetoric."
I’ve been watching the Trumpeteer brigade go into overdrive to counter-attack saying it’s just shocking, Shocking, for Hillary Clinton to stoop to verbally attacking American Voters like this. I mean it’s not like she already gave a long, detailed, fact filled speech of Trump’s own repeated dives into bigoted waters, now she has to actually attack his supporters too?
Well, yes, of course she does because the fact is that she actually didn’t call Trump racist, but actually said that he panders too racists, it’s only naturally that at some point she address those racists specifically and also those who aren’t racist or bigoted at all and who have their own economic reasons for being in support of a pyrite peddler like The Donald.
I mean c’mon, this is a candidate whose been openly endorsed by every racist, neo-nazi, KKK bigot from former Grand Wizard David Duke to the guy who was nearly a member of his California delegation. And somehow it’s supposed to be over the pale for Clinton to bring things like this up?
Here’s the video of her comments.
But the simple fact is that she was absolutely correct. About half of Trump supporters actually are Racist according to Reuters.
Supporters of U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump are more likely to describe African Americans as "criminal," "unintelligent," "lazy" and "violent" than voters who backed some Republican rivals in the primaries or who support Democratic contender Hillary Clinton, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll.
Ahead of the Nov. 8 election to replace Barack Obama, the first black U.S. president, the poll also showed significant numbers of Americans in both the Republican and Democratic parties view blacks more negatively than whites, harbor anxiety about living in diverse neighborhoods and are concerned that affirmative action policies discriminate against whites.
Republicans in the survey expressed these concerns to a greater degree than Democrats, with Trump supporters presenting the most critical views of blacks.
This was also reported by Gawker.
The survey posed 21 questions on attitudes towards race to 16,000 Americans, including supporters of
Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders. Ted Cruz and John Kasich supporters were also surveyed, before their candidates dropped out of the presidential race.
Only 36 percent of Trump supporters agreed with the statement, “I prefer to live in a community with people who come from diverse cultures,” compared to 46 percent of Cruz supporters, 55 percent of Kasich supporters and 70 percent of Clinton supporters.
About 31 percent of Trump supporters said they “strongly agree” that “social policies, such as affirmative action, discriminate unfairly against white people,” compared with 16 percent of Clinton supporters.
And by Salon, who also referred to the Reuters poll.
Presumptive 2016 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is a bigot. He wants to ban Muslims from entering the United States, believes that Hispanic and Latino immigrants come to America in order to rape and kill white women, uses anti-Semitic imagery to slur Hillary Clinton, and has been endorsed by white supremacists.
At present, the Republican Party is the United States’ largest white identity organization. There is a mountain of evidence in support of this claim. The Republican Party nurtures and cultivates hostility towards non-whites among its voters for the purpose of electoral gain. What is known as “The Southern Strategy” of racist “coded appeals” against African-Americans and other people of color has dominated Republican politics since (at least) the end of the civil rights movement. And during the Age of Obama, American politics has been poisoned by racist conspiracy theories such as “Birtherism,” lies that Barack Obama is a type of Manchurian candidate who actually hates America and wants to destroy it from within, efforts to rollback the won in blood gains of the Black Freedom Struggle, as well as unprecedented efforts by the Republican Party to abandon its basic responsibilities of governance in order to delegitimize the country’s first black president.
Donald Trump is not an outlier or aberration. In many ways, he perfectly embodies the racist attitudes and beliefs of the Republican Party in the post civil rights era. Likewise, Donald Trump’s supporters have enthusiastically embraced the Republican Party’s racism towards people of color, in general, and against black Americans, in particular.
And also RedState via Huffpo.
This is not exactly news to anyone who has spent more than about five minutes on Facebook or Twitter in the last year, but Trump's supporters are more likely to self-identify as racist, and a new poll proves it. Now, this is not a matter of saying, they say and think things that most reasonable people would agree are racist, this is a matter of saying they flat out told the pollster that they like white people way more than they like Hispanics or black people.
Overall, Trump supporters on average responded that they felt 75% warm or positive about whites (as opposed to 70% for all respondents), but only 60% warm about blacks (as opposed to 68% for other Republicans and 67% of all respondents total) and only 55% warm about Hispanics (as opposed to 69% of other Republicans and 67% overall). Here's the full survey results:
Listen, we can argue all day about what's racist, what isn't, but "I like whites more than blacks and a lot more than Hispanics" is 100% the dictionary definition of racist. If that's not racist, then there is no such thing as racist. And the fact that these people are willing to say it out loud pretty much hammers the point home with emphasis: they are racist and proud.
So when REDSTATE says you look racist — compared to supporters of other Republicans — I think possibly you might be a racist.

Looks like the surrogates have woken up to the fact that Hillary has a point….
“To be honest with you,” said Ball, “the truth hurts. I don’t know that it’s half of Trump supporters, but you can’t deny the fact that you’ve got the David Dukes of the world in his camp backing him strongly. You can’t deny the fact that if you go on white nationalist website Stormfront, they love their glorious leader Donald Trump. You can’t deny that when you go to his rallies you hear the N-word thrown around casually and Hillary Clinton referred to as the B-word.”
“So,” she continued, “he has tapped into this very ugly stream in America.” She added that what Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said this week, that the current U.S. economic climate has left a lot of lower-income people behind and that their anger is real. “I think you’ve got both, and I think it’s frankly important to point out the kind of company you’re keeping if you’re going to back somebody like Donald Trump.”
But of course the Trumpeteers missed the forest and the trees and the dirt and the road.
“I don’t agree with what Krystal said about those different groups, I think that it once again is just Hillary Clinton trying to divide. She doesn’t want to unify. And she put a number to it, it’s not like she just said just a small percentage, she said half. That’s a quarter of the American population, considering they’re almost tied in polls right now.”
“And let’s just say something happens and she gets elected, she’s supposed to represent, and to say that one quarter of the American population is those things? That is wrong.”
“What number would you put to it?” asked Ball. “Because you can’t deny that this is real.”
“It’s my turn,” sniped Hughes. “Would you like me to sit there and say that Hillary Clinton is accountable for cop killings? Or for communism or anarchism or all of the crazy fringes that exist on the left right now?”
“There might be a small fringe,” she conceded, “that have those horrible things that we denounce, all that Mr. Trump has denounced.”
Cop killers aren’t out screaming their devotion to Hillary Clinton. Neither or Communists, or Anarchist. That isn’t happening, but Neo-Nazis and White Supremacist absolutely LOVE Donald Trump and even if want to say he’s “denounced it” — it was half-assed and half-hearted at best. Let me ask you, do you think David Duke believed him when he said he didn’t accept the endorsement or does Duke know that under the rules of dog whistle politics you always deny, deny, deny, but then you add a telling wink at the end?
It’s not about whether Donald is with them — even though on a policy basis he is — it’s about the fact that they’re with him.
