This new Washington Post article describes the depth of Bush's grassroots and the campaign's plans for 2004.

It's going to take a herculean effort for Democrats to match or top this. Especially since we generally don't believe in doing things like roll calls and command and control structures. On the other hand, I think Dean's "you have the power" approach might mobilize more volunteers in the long run. My question is whether 10 months is enough time to build a large enough grassroots base to really take back the country.
