It appears that by pointing out precisely what is wrong with the media in his book
Lying Liars..., Al Franken has unwittingly provided Gephardt, Kerry, Lieberman, From, Bush et al with their strategy against Bush:
Somewhere along the line, the pack [substitue GKLFB here] decided that Al Gore [substitute Howard Dean here] was a sanctimonious, graspy exaggerator [insert angry, flip-flopping neophyte here] running against a likeable if dim-witted goof-off[insert likeable if dim-witted American hero here].
In Howard Dean's case, like Al Gore's, things are constantly taken out of context in an attempt to smear. Is it any wonder that Al Gore has endorsed Dean? Jeez, the guy probably saw what the others were doing and became mortally offended by their slimy tactics.
The latest one about "not being any safer" just takes the cake.
Frankly, I'm sure this tactic would have been used by the Republicans in the general election, but having it start so early cannot be a good thing, except in the sense that if Dean overcomes it, then that will have added to his teflonicity. But I have no idea how Trippi will do this.
