The loss of data is far worse than the VA Colonel testified to on May 28th to Congress, he told them the data lost was from veterans discharged since 1975. Bottom Line is he lied to Congress.
We have since learned that it also included 20,000 active duty Navy and 30,000 Navy Reserves, also the 2000 U.S. Census points out of the 208.1 million Americans surveyed that 26.4 million were veterans in FY 2000, this covered all wars from WW1 thru the year 2000, the Bosnia/European mission. so the VA lost the data on all living veterans, not just some.

The fact is that Secretary Nicholson lied on May 28th 2006 to the Senate committeee he stated that the only veterans that were affected were discharged after 1975 and that is not true.
I tried to edit this diary two or three time and it won't let me so the full article can be read at the out side the belt way site with all the links working to prove what I am saying. Sorry Mike
