I did a quick scan of the diaries and didn't see anything about this, so I am going ahead.
Today is the Alaska Senate primary. Tony Knowles should have a large victory over Theresa Obermeyer (www.tobermeyer.info) on the Democractic side. There is also a primary for the At Large House side on the Dem side, but it is pretty much for the title of sacrificial lamb to Congressman for Life Don Young.
On the Republican side, its basically going to be the Appointed Senator Murkwoski vs. former State Senate President Mike Miller. Miller has been closing the gap lately, and we'll see if he has closed enough.
Polls are open from 7am - 8pm Alaskan time (which is an hour behind the West Coast).
One other thing that I haven't seen posted on here is that the AK Supreme Court ruled that the Trust the People Initiative will be on the November ballot. That is the initiative that states there will be a special election instead of appointment for vacant US Senate seats and will serve as a constant reminder of how Murkowski got in office should she win the primary today.
And, now I am off to go wave signs for Tony and spend the day getting supporters out to vote.
