Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas spoke "at a closed, invitation- only Bush rally for Christian conservatives yesterday." The event was called the "Family, Faith and Freedom Rally".
One important Nazi Party slogan was 'Kinder, Kirche, Kueche' ( Children, Church, Kitchen), and that's just too damned similar for comfort. Even if the echo is accidental, which I doubt, it speaks volumes about Republican ideology. The time has come to define the people who are running the Republican Party for what they are, un-American neo-Fascists.
Of course, they're trying to downplay their fascist leanings for mainstream consumption, while advancing it to the party faithful. According to The New York Times, Brownback revisited Buchanan's '92 speech, insisting, "we must win this culture war." The rally "promoted a broad social conservative agenda, notably different from the televised presentation" at the convention.

Update [2004-9-1 9:12:15 by MMinNY]: Here's my letter to the
Times.
It is chilling that Senator Sam Brownback insisted "we must win this culture war" at the "Family, Faith and Freedom Rally," an event for Christian conservatives that was held outside the media spotlight on Tuesday. There is a distinct echo of the Nazi Party slogan: "Kinder, Kirche, Kueche" (Children, Church, Kitchen) in the rally's title, and I wonder just what kind of culture war Senator Brownback wants to win.
Doubt they'll publish it, but I hope that others will call attention to this.
