The Headline is
Lawsuit Uncovers New Bush Guard Records
Pretty early on we see:
Supporters of Democratic nominee John Kerry (news - web sites), a decorated Vietnam combat veteran, have criticized Bush for serving stateside in the National Guard.
No No No! Kerry supporters have criticized Bush for being AWOL and getting placed in the Guard as a political favor, not for simply serving. That would be an insult to everyone in the Guard today.
The majority of the article is about finding the records and Bush ranking in the middle of his class (not that big a deal to me). The phrase that records indicate a "lapse of duty" do not appear until 541 words into the story - that's 11 paragraphs into an 18 paragraph story.
Sorry I don't know how to do the cool block quotes
