I almost forgot to tell you all about the Kerry canvass last weekend. Terry McAuliiife was in town and talked to the hundred plus of us that turned out to the Democratic Party's Co-ordinated Campaign canvass.
KY3 TV News covered the event...
After listening to Mr McCauliff, we hit the streets and took info about LOTS of democratic candidates in SW Misourri, and asked them who they were supporting for president. I must have had a good route, because 4 out of five said they were probably going to vote for Kerry.
There was radio and tv coverage of it... in fact I heard a report about it the next morning on KTTS hourly news report at 8AM... right before I called in to the Sunday call in show called "Cracker Barrel" (an Ozarks Tradition), and I had a very nice 3 or 4 minute conversation with the moderator about why I feel Roy Blunt does not represent me and many others in SW Missouri, and I believe the Jim Newberry REALLY intends to listen to his constituents and will try his best to serve each and every one of us.
Then there was that article in the paper that I posted a diary entry about... There was a great quote from Jim Newberry in it...
From the Springfield News-Leader:
Blunt's Democratic challenger, Jim Newberry, argues that the lawmaker spends too much time campaigning around the nation and doesn't attend to the needs of 7th District voters. "You can't do much for the 7th District if you spend all of your time traveling around the country," Newberry said. "He was not elected to be whip. That was his choice."

Anyway, I had a pretty good weekend.
