Yankee pitching was excellent following a poor month. That is what is good about this homestand. Mariano walked & hit a batter. That might happen again.
He did walk one batter but allowed no runs and got a save.
The only negative I see for the Yankees is that now Francona will know to give Pedro the hook early. Bosox is better off going to the relievers if Pedro even makes it 6-7 innings in a close game.
Francona didn't learn from his and O'Grady's mistakes. Hope he does this again in the playoffs. Pedro is weak after 32 starts and looks weak after 70 pitches.
