I've been spending all day trying to keep my excitement in check. Kerry was solid as a rock; that man is unflappable, he's made of steel. For the first time in a while, I am downright happy that he won Iowa.
That said, I'd like to address the idea out there that last night was supposedly supposed to be an advantage for Bush. Because of his higher approval ratings in foreign policy or the war on terror, it was just assumed that Bush would be comfortable lats night.
But here's a secret: John Kerry has been preparing for this debate for twenty years. He knows foreign policy forwards and backwards. He knows where he stands, what he wants to do, and how to get there. If tehre is any debate where John Kerry has an advantage, it's on foreign policy, regardless of poll numbers.
That said, I'm a little worried going in to the domestic debates. Because I am more interested in foreign policy, last night I knew before it started that Kerry was debating from the stronger side. Though charisma is important, it means nothing if you aren't right, and I knwo for a fact that Bush is wrong on foreign policy. I was wondering if anyone here in the community can help me see how Kerry's position on domestic issues is strong. What does he bring going into the debates that will give him an advantage?
Thanks for any help.
