Is Bush drinking again? That's the suspicion. It's even been asserted by a politically-active UCLA Professor of Public Studies that Bush's drinking is
"common knowledge" in Washington (I'm referring to Mark A.R. Kleiman). Anyway, falling off the wagon could be an explanation for
this:
WASHINGTON (AFP) - After undergoing his annual medical check-up in August 2001, 2002 and 2003, US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) has put the procedure off this year until after the November 2 election, his spokesman said.
Unfortunately, there really doesn't seem to be a way that I can think of to push this idea into the political debate. However, I have seen some commenters at Atrios's site suggest the following:
Kerry and Edwards should release brand new drug and alcohol screen results without comment.
NOW!
It would seal the race no matter HOW Friday ends up being spun by the SCLM.
This MUST be done!
I doubt it would seal the race, but it could, perhaps, get people talking.
