To the good people of (state),
Four years ago we made a mistake. We elected a simple man with simple values thinking that because he was more of an average Joe he would represent us better than a seasoned, more intelligent career politician. We were horribly wrong.
9/11 is George Bush's one shining moment. It may have taken him three days to come out of hiding and stand atop the rubble of the WTC but when he did he represented us well. Every action preceding that day and since that day George Bush has failed as President. He has failed to uphold the honor of the office, failed to tell the truth to the American citizenry, failed to put the good of the masses above the good of the priviliged few.
On Nov. 2. We have the opportunity to correct our mistake and elect a man who is everything Bush is not: Courageous, intelligent, eloquent, and with a strong desire to work for the masses and not the priviliged few. Please help us return to the respected nation we were four years ago and vote for John Kerry.
Sincerely

To the good people of (whatever state),
Four years ago the general feeling in this country about the Presidential election was: The "lesser of two evils." A little over half of voters thought Gore represented a safer choice, yet Bush eked out a contested Electoral College win.
This year the same feeling has surrounded the upcoming election. My question to you is why? George Bush has proven that he is the greater evil. He has failed to get significant legislation passed concerning health care, education, the environment, and energy independence; this despite having a majority in both houses of Congress. He has confused the war on terror with a war on Iraq. Everyone knows and understands that Saddam Hussein was not a good leader or good human being. However, Iraq posed no threat and now our children die on a daily basis in a war that was unnecessary; a war that has increased radical Islam in the region; and rarely mentioned is the fact that Osama bin Laden, architect of 9/11 still walks free.
One thing we all should think about in the days before Nov. 2nd is the truth factor. Watch Going Upriver and see for yourselves why the SBVT is wrong, and see with your own eyes the strength and conviction of John Kerry. Then ask yourself why the President we mistakenly elected four years ago has not told the truth about pre-9/11 intelligence, not told the truth about No Child Left Behind, not told the truth about Halliburton, not told the truth about WMD's and the real terrorist threats that are building while we are mired in Iraq, and why he has lied to us about health care, privitization of social security, and his machinations to build an ultra-conservative Supreme Court.
Please correct the mistake we made four years ago and vote for the more seasoned, intelligent, and respectable candidate. Please vote for John Kerry and help our country embrace the future, realize our goals, and regain the honor and respect this administration has cost us around the globe.
This letter should be sent to papers with no word limit.
Sincerely,
