I cringe everytime I hear Bush or anyone else repeating or reiterating this " buzz word framing " of "terror", or the "war on terror" which was originated and propogated by Bush in his attempt to justify the invasion of Iraq as part of, if not the centerpiece, of the war on terror.
Bush consistantly whenever given the oportunity, and sometimes out of nowhere, will inject "they hate democracy" or "they hate freedom" in a manner or in the context of it being the central core issue of our problems in Iraq or the conflicts of our times, and for some reason it is NEVER challenged.
Terrorism is a device used against the ESTABLISHMENT or STATUS QUO. It is anti-establishment in general and not directed towards any particular form of government or political system although in some cases it could be, but in our current global terror situation is not.
more below the fold
"HOW CAN WE BE CARRYING ON A WAR ON TERROR WHEN WE AREN'T ADDRESSING OR UNDERSTANDING THE REAL ROOT CAUSES OF THE TERRORISM ?" should be the discussion of the day and the critisizms brought forward by the Democrats to emphesize the incompetance or disengenous actions of the Bush administration and the republicans in general.
They can't wage an effective war on terror, when they can't or refuse to recognize what the war is about!
Can anyone think of or suggest some good buzzword phrases to bring forward and propogate through the news media that expresses the above so that we can combat the "hypnotic effect" of the general public constantly being bombarded with "They hate Democracy" and "They hate Freedom"? Or perhaps a buzzword way to highlight that this is an effort on the part of the republicans to include Iraq in the war on terror.
