According to an article in the
June 28th Army times a number of deaths of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib previously attributed to "natural or unknown causes" may be reclassified as homicides. If so, charges are expected to be brought against those responsible.
The Army's inspector general and criminal division are investigating whether U.S. troops deliberately or negligently exposed Iraqi prisoners to extreme heat and cold in ways that contributed to deaths that have until now been attributed to natural or unknown causes.
