Folks, in order to call the GOP out on any spin they may try to let fly in the Election Day wrap I'm wondering if there is a source for the winning margins of both Popular Vote and Electoral Vote in past prez races.
IIRC, a presidential win by about 2 or 3% Popular Vote is actually pretty big, even going back half a century.
What I don't want to have happen is for Kerry to win by "only" a few percent and then have the GOP say he has no mandate or "aw shucks, he squeeked in'" or somesuch.
Any help appreciated. And, while we're playing the numbers game -- take my poll.
