If there is one issue that is make or break for me, it is how a candidate stands on the FCC deregulation of the media. this is so much more important than freakin abortion or flag burning or all those other liberal litmus tests people use. this issue is more important because it's also less divisive--a vast majority of Americans think the media is owned by too few people. this article shows why corporate power threatens our communities and our democracy:

it talks about a 50-year old farmers radio show about to go off the air due to profit concerns. it sites the enormous mega-merger mania agriculture underwent in the 1990s. and we wonder why rural America is dying? oh well, at least Midwesterners can now look forward to more Rush Limbaugh to figure out who to blame for their predicaments...capitalism doesn't have to be a conspiracy...
