Here we go with the buildup to the invasion of Iran

This is only the latest in the past week. There are a few articles in the NYTs and some AP stories that have hinted at this direction from earlier this week. There's also a piece on the front page of the WaPo (
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A57465-2004Nov17.html). The media is buying this hook line and sinker. At least the NYT had the forsight to put the story farther back in the paper - avoiding the front page. Maybe they learned something after they jumped all over the WMD story that turned out to be a load of crap?
You'll notice that the group that is now informing the US of "violations" and provided the documents is no longer called a terrorist group (which they used to be called) - they are now a "dissident group." That gives them credibility? Maybe Bush should appoint them to a cabinet position?
Unbelievable. Expect things to really amp up after the holidays. The draft wouldn't get passed with a lame-duck congress, so they'll have to wait until late January or February.
ADDED:
And I have to wonder why it's okay to let North Korea to continue with their program, but it's Iran we go after. What I also worry about in terms of the draft is the possibility of expanding the age to 34. The Seattle Post Int. reported on some Pentagon documents a few weeks ago that suggested this scenario. Plus, back in May, they reported on a Selective Service plan to look in to drafting women.
I think it seems especially plausible when they are currently calling up guys in their 40s who have already completed their service committments.
Our troops are stretched so thin in Iraq, there's no way we invade Iran without a draft. Be very afraid.
