It finally hit me this morning why some are ready to do something now, and others want HARD evidence.
So, if I can, without accusing anybody of anything, or insulting anyone, let me try to sort this out so we can at least argue over the same thing.
There are two distinct groups with two almost mutually exclusive points of view. (some actuall hold one point,I think, but want action from the other, but if they are there, they are not the driving force in either camp.
- A great many see the election, ONLY or PRIMARILY in legal terms. They require massive levels of proof, becuase they ONLY see this as being resolvable through the legal system. The only actions they feel are appropreate are legal examinations, and they believe that that is the only way we can win.
- Others believe that there is a moral issue present, and that it superceds the legal issues. Those folks believe the courts are POWERLESS to resolve the issues, becuase the issues are not legally defined in the first place.
Please, if you are in either group, I have attempted to be fair, and hope that I accuratly captured your views.
I am afraid my reputation procedded me, and people are already aware whitch group I am a member of.
This diary is NOT about sides or challanging or putting anyone down, simply an attempt to understand why we see things SO differntly.
I ask, with no power to enforce it, that you ONLY discuss why you believe you are in one camp or the other, and why you think you camp is more realistic, or better able to resolve the issue.
This is not the forum to argue what to do about it, or fight with each other, it is a forum to bring us together and understand each other, and realize that we have the same goals, just differnt ideas about how to get there.
