Imagine the title of this diary intoned in my best
Michael Buffer voice...
Hi! I'm "N in Seattle", called by some readers the definitive dKos historian of the Washington gubernatorial battle. I'm a bit embarrassed to pat myself on the back like that, but then again, I did write an extended series of day-by-day updates during the initial tally and its 261-vote margin, and continued reporting during the mandatory automated recount that brought us to the current 42-vote margin between Dino Rossi (R-stealth wingnut pretending he's won) and Christine Gregoire (D-wimp who could still win despite her terrible campaign).
I owe y'all a wrapup of the first recount's effects, and will keep on top of events as they unfold further, but first a pause for this message:
PLEASE HELP TO PAY FOR A HAND RECOUNT! THE WA-DEMS WILL APPRECIATE YOUR HELP.
It will take at least
$750,000 to pay for a full statewide hand recount -- the state requires an up-front deposit of 25 cents per ballot, and nearly 2.9 million ballots were cast on Election Day.
I'll be following and analyzing the progress of the hand recount in dKos diaries and on my own blog. But unless that deposit money is raised ASAP, there might not be a hand recount for me to analyze and you to read about.
So, again, I implore you to immediately contribute what you can to support this effort to count all the votes.
I've already done it ... you be the next one, OK?
