Like Joe Lieberman, I have been appalled at the declining moral standards in our society. Hundred page government documents detailing oral sex, Senators obsessing about bestiality, democracy for sale... Where will it all end. Joe?
And now I've found I've lost you, Senator.
Why just today Senator, I was playing with my kids on the way to the beach. We were having a "race" as to whether I could buckle my youngest into his carseat before my eldest could buckle himself in. I won, Joe; it's a rare thing in my house.
But then #1 son said something that filled me with more horror than a Miami custom's officer tasked with strip-searching Rush Limbaugh.
"No, Daddy. Whoever doesn't win, that's who wins."
It's been less than 48 hours, and already your moral stain has spread to my five year old.
What can I say to him? You were always our moral pillar, Joe. At least that's what the media told me, and they can't be wrong. You never flinched from fighting free artistic expression, consensual sex, the right to die with dignity and the need to provide rape victims with public transportation. And now you embrace the idea that second place is the winner's circle?
Joe, I'm from Connecticut. If you're not there to provide moral guidance, how can I raise my children to pass moral judgment on others?
It's so very, very wrong Joe.
