After being rebuffed by
several county Canvassing Boards, Dino Rossi (R-unemployed snake oil salesman) still isn't ready to give up. While his handlers continue to derogate the open, public, bi-partisan work of King County's vote counters and Canvassing Board, Rossi is scheduled to
hold a press conference [subscription required] this afternoon.
He isn't conceding, we're told. It's unlikely that he'll reveal what he and slimy Chris Vance, chair of the WA GOP, have in mind for future interference, but who knows?
Here's the usual link to my immediately-previous report...
In the meantime, Christine Gregoire (D-almost governor-elect) is said to be planning an appearance
tomorrow afternoon in Olympia. That would surely be timed to take place
after Sam Reed, Washington's Secretary of State, certifies her
129-vote victory in the hand recount. That margin is one vote smaller than we thought last week, as Thurston County rectified its too-late addition of one Gregoire vote to its tally.
When I have more time and more information, I'll post a more comprehensive wrapup of the final totals in the hand count.
For those interested in freeping opportunities, NWCN just put up a Should Rossi concede the race? survey [subscription required].
A special shout-out to SusanHu for alerting me to Rossi's upcoming appearance.
