What does it take for Americans to see who we are in bed with? The article says:
President Islam Karimov's government has denied opening fire on demonstrators as witnesses have claimed, instead blaming Islamic extremists for the violence. The authoritarian government has restricted access for reporters in the affected areas.
This government is part of our "coalition" bringing "freedom" to Iraq.

The article also reports:
"The people now are more afraid of government troops than of any so-called militants," Zaynabitdinov told Associated Press Television News.
Our actions, our support of this dictator, proves to the world what our intentions really are, and these intentions are not to bring "democracy" and "freedom" to those who suffer under dictators like the president of Uzbekistan.
What happens if the people in Uzbekistan call upon the US to help them win their freedom? Do we tell them they are not "worthy" or that they have to win their freedom "peacefully," while we invaded and destroyed their neighbor Iraq?
The uprisings in Uzbekistan are a serious matter which, so far, are unraveling the untruths of our invasion of Iraq.
This is an important story, one that should be watched as there are just too many signs that our actions in the Middle East will be with us for decades to come.
