Last night, as I was flipping channels, I came across a report on Shepard Smith's show regarding the same-sex marriage issue in California. Wanting to see what they'd say, I left the channel on (only for the report) and ended up getting quite fussy.
Now, I don't know where to find a transcript of the report, so this is coming from memory. But, as the reporter was discussing the issue, she said something about gay people protesting the decision. However, the footage under her talking was of protest from the day before in Massachusetts. Nowhere in her report or on the screen was there a notification that these protests were in a different place and over a different issue. Nowhere in her report was it mentioned that many of the people in the pictures were actually anti-gay protestors.
Knowing this is Fox News, I'm quick to jump to the opinion that this was a deliberate attempt to mislead. After all, what's more frightening to Fox News viewers than the spectre of angry radical homosexuals coming to take over their towns?! It was quite an example of using misleading video. I've already written the show to express my disgust. Others can do so here (links to email address).
