Just take a look at these two news stories that came
out a few days from each other and show just how insane the Administration's policies really are.
First, the Washington Post reports that despite the fact
that experts both inside and outside Iran are shouting
that it will be a waste of money at put internal
dissidents at risk, the Bush Administration still
wants to spend $85 million of taxpayer money to
"promote democracy" in second country in the Axis of
Evil (or are they the third?)
But since the CIA
deposed
Mohammed Mossadegh and installed our good friend
(and authoritarian dictator) the Shah, for some reason
the Iranians don't seem to trust our nation-building
efforts in that part of the world. That and the Iraq
invasion thing.
Next up, the AP
reports that even in the wake of Hurricane Katrina,
"The White House has rejected hurricane
disaster-recovery loans at a higher rate than any
other administration in the last 15 years."
Maybe some of that $85 million earmarked for
propaganda efforts in Iran could be used to help
approve disaster loans for small business owners in
New Orleans who lost everything due to the bungling
incompetence of this Administration.
