The following is from CBS.Marketwatch
In thin trading Friday, the Dow industrials zigzagged for much of the session, before closing down 17 points to 10,783 while the Nasdaq forfeited 3 points to 2,175. The S&P 500 dipped less than 2 points to 1,212. The Nasdaq and the S&P touched their highs for the year in the previous session, at levels last seen mid-2001.
In short, not much happened today. I wanted to at least let you guys know what happened, even if it wasn't much of anything. The last week of the year is traditionally a non-event. This year has proven no different.
I'll be back writing more serious commentary next week when the market starts into gear for the year.
