What I find interesting is that, if Kerry did have an affair, why are dems so willing to excuse it? Why? Is it because we've become so jaded about politicians that we assume it comes with the territory?
I say that's a bunch of bull. Some cheat - some don't and cheating is lying and is an indication of the character of the person who cheats. Cheating is an act of attempting to get away with something that solely benefits us in the hope that those who trust us don't find out. We want to cheat on them yet retain their trust at the same time. Something in our personality has difficulty with responsibility and accepting consequences. Men think this is something that is insulated from the rest of character. Women think differently about it.
What's fascinating is that, when given the option to back someone who probably doesn't cheat (Clark, Dean and maybe Edwards), we pick the one whom most people would guess does! Are we not absurd? Good risk takers bet on the one that looks most like a sure thing. Do you think that after Clinton, if the Kerry things turns out to be true, that Kerry is the best risk?
And, we choose the guy with the outer trappings without any of the inner ones. By the way, remember who the last dem. President was? Remember what happened to the party? Let's see what happens now.
Dean or Edwards or Kerry. This isn't over yet. Time to stop once again and rethink what we're doing. Let's not be fools.
